Working Trials


Decoymans Piper of Gunton is owned and trained by Lynden Amos who lives in Somerset.

Lynden has taken Decoymans Piper of Gunton to the highest placed toller in the UK so far, he has CDex UDex WDex TDex and open T.D. He needs one more Open T.D. to be able to work in the 'Ticket Stake' This Stake is where Champions in working Trials come from.

DEFINITION OF STAKES, ELIGIBILITY & EXERCISES

1.When entering for Championship or Open Working Trials, wins at Members Working Trials will not count.

2. No dog entered in P.D. or T.D. Stakes at a Championship Trial shall be eligible to enter in any other Stake at the meeting.

3. All Police dogs shall be considered qualified for entry in W.D. Championship Stakes if they hold the Regional Police Dog qualification "Excellent", provided that such entries are countersigned by the Senior Police Officer I/C when such entries are made. Dogs holding this qualification are not eligible for entry in C.D. or U.D. Open or Championship Stakes, nor in W.D. Open Stakes.

4. No Working Trial Stake shall be limited to less than 30. If a limit is imposed on entries in any Stake, it shall be carried out by ballot after the date of closing of entries. Championship T.D. or P.D. Stakes shall not be limited to numbers.

5. Open Working Trials.

a. Companion Dog (C.D.) Stake-For dogs which have not qualified C.D. Ex or U.D. Ex or won three or more first prizes in Open C.D. or any prize in U.D. Stakes, W.D. Stakes, P.D. or T.D. Stakes at Open or Championship Working Trials.

b. Utility Dog (U.D.) Stake-For dogs which have not been awarded a Certificate of Merit in U.D., W.D., P.D. or T.D. Stakes.

c. Working Dogs (W.D.) Stakes-For dogs which have been awarded a Certificate of Merit in U.D. Stakes but not in W.D., P.D. or T.D. Stakes.

d. Tracking Dog (T.D.) Stakes-For dogs which have been awarded a Certificate of Merit in W.D. Stakes but not more than one Certificate of Merit in T.D. Stakes.

e. Patrol Dog (P.D.) Stake-For dogs which have qualified W.D. Excellent at a Championship Trial but excluding dogs that have qualified P.D. Excellent at a Championship Trial.

6. Championship Working Trials.

a. Companion Dog (C.D.) Stake-For dogs which have not won three or more first prizes in C.D. Stakes, and not more than one prize in UD Stake, or any prize in any other Stake at Championship Working Trials.

b. Utility Dog (U.D.) Stake-For dogs which have won a Certificate of Merit in an Open U.D. Stake. A dog is not eligible for entry in this Stake if it has qualified W.D. Excellent or is entered in the W.D. Stake at the same trial.

c. Working Dog (W.D) Stake - For dogs which have qualified U.D. Ex and have won a Certificate of Merit in an Open W.D. Stake. A dog is not eligible for entry in this stake if it has qualified T.D. or P.D. Excellent or entered in the T.D. or P.D. Stake at the same Trial.
